NLM Timeline

NLM Church History

After being led to move back to Fayetteville, NC in June 2001, God commissioned Pastor Karen Evans in January 2002, to prepare, plan and establish New Life Ministries. Pastor Evans filed the necessary papers to begin the ministry. In April 2002, Pastor Evans, her three sons, Robert, Donte’, Raymond, and spiritual daughter Haven, started conducting worship services at the Ramada Inn in Fayetteville, NC. In June 2002 God blessed us with a building and we had our first service the second Sunday in August 2002. By the end of August, the Overton family joined. Not soon after, Lena and Michelle Morris and Manuel Evans joined. Needless to say, God started adding to the church. God continued to bless us spiritually as well as numerically. That was the beginning of what God had planned for New Life Ministries .

In 2005, New Life Ministries established its NLM Community Development Corporation. Our first programs were the clothing bank and summer program. This was in accordance to the vision given to the Pastor by God.

In 2006, New Life Ministries established New Life Ministries Association of Churches. Praise Tabernacle Ministries and Love and Commitment Ministries became a part of the Association.

In 2006, Love and Commitment Ministries was established in Mannheim, West Germany.

As the church began to grow we needed a larger facility, once again God opened the door for us. In April 2007, we moved into a larger building on 2015 Murchison Road that seats three hundred. It has offices, a full kitchen, a multi-purpose room, and classrooms. The dedication service was held in June. The church continued to grow as we continued to do the will of God.

in August 2007, we celebrated Pastor Evans’ 30th year in ministry. She was also consecrated as an Apostle.

In 2008, Love and Commitment Ministries was established in Fletcher, Oklahoma. Also, in 2008, New Life Bible College was established as set forth in our church vision. Associate, Bachelor, Master and Doctoral Degree programs are offered.

In 2009, we began the process to purchase the church building and land. We believe God is going to give us all that we ask.

In April 2010, we purchased our first Church Van. Also, in 2010, Pastor and Elder Huffman established bible study in Alaska and had their first Sunday service January 23, 2011.

In 2012, we purchased the Murchison Road building and property. We also celebrated our church 10th anniversary and Apostle Evans’ 35th year in ministry.

God continues to do great things for our Ministry.

In January 2017, we purchased 16 acres of land in Hope Mills, NC. God promised us this land to start building our campus to fulfill the vision of having a new sanctuary, community center, bible college, senior citizen facility, educational facility,  and mortgage and banking company.
